You are warmly invited to this event – it is an important opportunity for students and parents to learn more and gain clarity on tertiary study options with New Zealand’s major tertiary institutions, as well as to explore other industry-related pathways.
Career Expo in the Great Hall
This year all eight participating New Zealand Universities, Tertiary Education and Industry Organisations will present their usual 40 minute sessions as well as host a static stand in the Great Hall, career expo style. This is so that they can be available to engage students and parents, and answer questions throughout the full duration of the evening.
Three Concurrent Presentations
Tertiary Student Recruitment staff and Industry Professionals will deliver up to three detailed presentations, grouped to reflect the themes of their flagship programmes, and each institution’s unique value proposition. There will be a five minute commute between sessions.
Concurrent sessions will be held on campus across the Graham Bruce Building, Lecture Theatre, Centennial Centre and Archdall Block – these areas are highlighted in the map included below.
Please carefully check the programme of presentations provided and decide which presentations you will attend in each time slot.
Further information to aid decision-making can be found online using the web-links for each tertiary institution (listed at the end of this email) as a starting point for some preliminary research prior to the event.
Follow-up course planning and enrolment help sessions for Year 13 students will be held in Term 3. King's College will host each institution separately for this.
For those wanting more detailed discussion of possible study options, deeper one-one course planning or enrolment help, most institutions have an Auckland campus or office. The Student Recruitment staff there are always available and happy to assist. Therefore Year 13 students and parents are encouraged to communicate directly with the tertiary student recruitment staff that they meet at the event.
Alternative ways of engaging Student Recruitment other than visiting in person are via email, or through 0800 telephone contact.
Round Square, an industrious and highly motivated student-led group, will be fundraising with a sausage sizzle on the night, so bring along a healthy appetite and some cash to support a worthy cause. Espresso on the Go will also be onsite to sell a well-made coffee or hot drink.
